Extinction coil is a kind of adjustable inductive winding with a core,fixed on the neutral point of electric generator, power transformer of grounding transformer. When the single phase ground fault occurs, the extinction coil can produce and inductive current close to grounding current in magnitude and opposite in direction, and relatively complemented with capacitance current,which make the current of earth point very small or close to zero. Extinction coil can remarkably reduce the reset rate of fault phase current,Which reduce the possibility of restrike of electric arc.
