Activator

Activator for hydrographics is a chemical that facilitates the conversion of the film from solid to liquid state. It is sprayed left-right and then top-bottom on the film.

WHAT IS WATER TRANSFER PRINTING?

 Water transfer printing is a method of applying printed designs to three-dimensional objects. Its applicable on metal, plastic, glass, hard woods, and various other materials. The process is also called Hydrographic or water immersion printing.

EXPLANATION OF THE PROCESS

1.       A substrate piece to be printed is pre-treated and a base coat material is applied. A polyvinyl alcohol film (THIS IS WHAT WE SELL)is gravure-printed with the graphic image to be transferred, and is then floated on the surface of a vat of water.

2.       An activator (WE SELL THIS TOO) chemical is sprayed on the film to dissolve it into a liquid and activate a bonding agent.

3.       The piece is then lowered into the vat, through the floating ink layer, which wraps around and adheres to it.

4.       After removing the piece from the water, a top coat is applied to protect the design.

APPLICATION

Water Transfer Printing is applicable in materials such as plastics, metals, wood etc. and is able to coat complex three dimensional shapes with very high quality.It creates new color and appearance on the printed product and enhances its value.
