The boards need to be vented to let expanding air out of them.The purpose of the Saishun VENT PLUG is to equalize internal and external pressure from heat extremes to changes in atmospheric pressure due to changes in elevation.
Saishun VENT PLUG will equalize the inner pressure of the board with external pressure and minimize build-up. If you do not release the pressure, you may experience excessive build-up that can lead to problems of hull de-lamination (bubbling of the outer surfaces of the hull)
The vents that don’t have to be removed. These are high-tech plugs, with a membrane inside them that lets air pass through, but not water. We checked with a couple of leading surfboard companies that have been using these vents in their EPS/epoxy boards and they’ve had no complaints in thousands of boards.
