This Tanker is applied to transport liquid asphalt in a short or long distance with heat preserving.

Ⅰ,Overview

With rapid development of highway construction, especially that of expressway, the usage of asphalt is increased rapidly. The short-distance transportation of asphalt can no longer meet the demand of such construction activities. At present, there are only a small number of asphalt transportation means in China, being almost simple ones locally used and without fixed type, by which the asphalt cannot be heated and pumped out. Several manufacturers have tried the new types of asphalt transportation, however, just basically satisfied the demand for use. So a fixed-type asphalt transportation means with good performance is in high requirement.

Our company has promoted a new type of transportation means for liquidized asphalt, which is widely accepted by the users for its good technological performance.

The liquidized asphalt transportation vehicle of  DGL5250GLY20 is provided with SX5164GLYBJ401R chassis, the tank of heated asphalt and the system of heating and pumping, which is used to transport the liquidized asphalt in an insulated manner. This vehicle is particularly designed to transport the liquidized asphalt from the asphalt warehouse to the mix station during highway construction and from the oil refinery or port quay to the asphalt warehouse. Said vehicle is also adapted to the transportation of residual oil and other viscous oil for which insulation is necessary during its transportation.

Ⅱ,Features

The vehicle has the following features:

Its tank has an insulation layer with a temperature drop <1°C/h. The section of tank is oval, taking full advantages of passage area of vehicle traveling. Its tank is also provided with U-type gas pipes and a diesel oil burner that can ignite automatically at its inlet, such that the asphalt can be heated and external high power source is not necessary at all. An inverter is also available to shift 24V DC in the vehicle to 220V AC for supplying voltage to the diesel oil burner. So work can be still conduced without any external power source. A heat exchanger is fitted into the tank to repeatedly heat the asphalt pump and the three-way valve, taking the heat transfer oil as the medium and with the help of the heat transfer oil pump.The vehicle has an insulated asphalt pump and an insulated three-way valve, the shells of which are  sandwiched so that the heat transfer oil can heat the pump and the valve, thereby decreasing the viscosity resistance of the condensed asphalt at the time of start-up.The vehicle has also the circulating coil for asphalt, realizing internal circulation of asphalt by actuating the pump, like stirring the asphalt to some extent, to enable an even heating of asphalt and quick increase of temperature. Its hydraulic system is designed to have “one pump and two motors”; it’s very practical and economical. The asphalt pump is driven by hydraulic motor with low speed and big-torque cycloid while the heat transfer oil pump is driven by geared motor with high speed and small torque. High-pressure gear pump is driven by the chassis PTO shaft. The change-over valve and the pressure regulating valve are installed between the hydraulic pump and the motor to realize both high pressure and low pressure systems, for driving the asphalt pump and the heat transfer oil pump. Two sets of pressure systems can be operated individually to be adapted to the actual needs. At the rear of the asphalt pump is installed a three-way valve, by turning which the following asphalt discharge functions can be realized (see Figure 4).

(1)    Pressure release: when the pressure of oil storage tank is higher than the asphalt transporting vehicle, start the asphalt pump to allow a positive turning such that the liquidized asphalt can be pumped out by force; at that time, the three-way valve shall be switched to the position of “pump out/pump in”.

(2)    Pump-in by spontaneous imbibitions: when the connecting hose at the outlet of three-way valve is linked to the asphalt pit and the three-way valve is turned to the position of “pump out/pump in”, the asphalt can be imbibed into the asphalt tank by starting the asphalt pump to allow its reverse turning.

(3)     Internal circulation: switch the three-way valve to the position of “circulating/closing” and start the asphalt pump to allow a positive turning, such that internal circulation of asphalt can be realized, like stirring it to some extent, to improve heating of asphalt.

(4)    Asphalt loading by outside pump: when an outside asphalt pump is needed to pump the asphalt in the tank, reliably connect the asphalt outlet pipe to the outside pump and turn the three-way valve to the position of “loading”. Then start the outside pump.

 Reverse turning is available to pump out the asphalt at high level. At the end of oil discharge, reverse turning of the asphalt pump in a short time can suck out the residual asphalt in the discharge pipe.
