Properties

 Soluble in water, alcohol and benzene insoluble in ether and chloroform.White crystalline, odurless, hygroscopicity.Melting point 135 °C (breakdown), relative density d2041.323.At high temperatures can undertake condensation reaction, generating shrink 2 urea, shrink three thiourea and three together o-phenylenediamine.Heating to 1.6 °C decomposition, produce ammonia also become o-phenylenediamine.
