4. Fields of Application:
Household drinking water, water sources, bottled water, surface water, aquiculture water, irrigation water, seawater, household and industrial wastewater and etc.
Various industries involving large amount of water require frequent water testing, and the controlling of water quality to meet the different standards. In the case of water deterioration, water tests must be conducted immediately, so measures can be taken accordingly, to prevent serious consequences caused.
5. Development Background:
Sources of Cr Pollution:
Major Cr pollutions usually come with the waste water and smoke released from mining and mineral processing industries, smelting and plating industries, machine, automobile, and aircraft manufacturing, dyeing, printing, and pharmaceutical industries, etc.
Hazard Caused by Cr:
Cr is one of the minor elements in organisms. However, large amount of Cr present can contaminate the environment, and is also harmful to our health. All chemicals containing Cr are toxic. Cr6+ is most toxic, which is 100 times more toxic than Cr3+, and Cr2+ is least toxic. Most Cr chemicals can accumulate in biological bodies.
Usually, Cr (VI) is the cause of most Cr poisoning. Clinical symptoms can vary depending on the ways of contact. Drinking contaminated water can cause sick feeling and diarrhea, etc. Skin contact with Cr can cause irritation, dermatitis, or eczema, which has symptoms of having many small coin shape inflammations; they are subacute, red spotted, infiltrating, peeling, and slow healing. Inhalation of Cr can cause irritation, corrosion to airway and also inflammation in nasal cavity, throat, and bronchia. When serious, it can even cause erosion and ulcers in nasal cavity. Cr is also carcinogenic.
