Quality: The finished product is of white or slightly yellow crystal powder of relative density of 1.4, with pungent SO2 smell being wet but no any other smell being dry. It dissolves in water and glycerin, solubility rising with temperature. It is slightly soluable in alcohols.

Usage:Sodium metabisulfite is widely used in leather tanning, cloth knitting, organic matters blanching, mordants, food preservation, brewing, sterilization and antisepsis of beverage, synthetic organic reducers for photography, rubber coagulators and spices.
