Using specialized technology, the sectional flighting (also known as helical plate, or helix) we supply is cold-formed using a die designed by our engineer. Without changing the physical properties of the steel plate, we can ensure accurate sizing of the outside diameter (OD), inside diameter (ID) and pitch, and a perfect helical surface which is normal to the axis or shaft. Flighting up to 80mm bandwidth can be produced with a continuous process - a rolled, smooth surface with no joints. The larger sizes of continuous flighting are welded in sections, ensuring that all joints are smooth, quality welds and maintaining a perfect helical surface which is normal to the axis. This will improve the efficiency of screw conveyers, blenders, piling machines etc..
