9) The distinctions between hot galvanized wire and cold galvanized wire (electric galvanized wire) as follows: (1) The hot galvanized wire is produced speedy by melting in heating zinc fluid. But the thickness of those galvanized coating is uneven, and the minimum thickness allowed by the market is 45 microns, while the maximum can up to 300 microns or more. Its color is darker and it may consume more zinc metal. For it has formed a penetrating layer of strong corrosion resistance, it can be maintained for decades in outdoor environment. (2) The cold galvanized wire (electric galvanized wire) is produced with slow speed by plating metal surface gradually through one-way current in the plating tank. The thickness of galvanized coating is even with a common thickness of 3-15 microns. Its color is bright and it usually will rust within several months for its weak corrosion resistance. (3) Compared with electric galvanized wire, the production cost of hot galvanized wire is lower and its effect on environment is also weaker.
10) Applications of hot galvanized wire:Due to thicker galvanized coating, the hot galvanized wire has better protective properties than the electric galvanized wire, so it is used as important protective coating of steel products under harsh working environment. The hot galvanized products are widely applied in industries like chemical equipment, petroleum processing, marine exploration, metal structure, power transmission and ship building. In recent years, a large amount of hot galvanized products are used in agriculture fields like pesticide spraying, greenhouses and construction industry like water & gas transmission, wire casing, scaffolding, bridges and highway guarding railing.
