Preparation

The drug is collected in early autumn when fruit is ripe, dried in the sun, removed from shell and nutlet, dried in the sun until it becomes unsticky.

Actions

Long yan rou (edible part of the fruit): as tonic after illnesses, neurasthenia, forgetfulness, palpitation, insomnia.

Medical functions

Fungus Inhibition: water extract of long yan rou (1:2), inhibits Microsporon Audouini in test tube.

Contraindications

Fullness due to congested fluids or Phlegm-Fire obstructing the Middle Burner.
