Sodium Thiocyanate | ||||
Product Name: | Sodium Thiocyanate | English Name: | Sodium Thiocyanate
Molecular Formula: | NaSCN | Molecular Weight: | 81.07
Performance: | White rhombic crystal or powder with the melting point of 287 ?, soluble in water, ethanol,propanol. Its water solution will become blood red when meeting ferric salt solution, but it has no reaction when meeting ferrous salt. It will form yellow sodium hydrogen sulfate with concentrated sulfuric acid and form deep blue cobalt thocyanate. When reacting with silver salt or copper salt it will form silver hydrosulfide deposit or black copper thiocyanate deposit. It can be easily deliquesced in air and should be hermetically stored.
Use: | Mainly used as the run solvent of acrylic nitrile fiber, reagent of chemical analysis, color film developing agent, defoliant. Also used in pharmaceutical manufacture, printing and dyeing, rubber treatment etc.
