Iron is an important composition of Hemoglobi, Myoglobin and Cytochrome in animal. Iron is essential to Hematopoietic function, oxygen transport  and intracellular Biological oxidation process. Iron also increases feed conversion rate, premunition and immunity. Iron deficiency causes anemia, pale skin, inactivity and poor skin and hair colour.

  

Poultry

Iron deficiency results serious anemia, dramatically lowers deposition of red blood cells, and makes normal red and black colour of feather completely fade away. National standards of chicken recommended iron content: 0-3 years old meat poultry chick --- 100ppm, over 4 years old --- 80ppm; below 18 years old meat poultry breeding hen --- 60ppm, over 19 years old meat poultry breeding hen --- 80ppm; yellow feather meat poultry --- 80ppm; below 18 years old yellow feather meat poultry breeding hen--- 54ppm, over 19 years old --- 72ppm.

Swine

 

In all kinds of livestock, iron deficiency affects piglets most severely. Piglet with anemia has pale skin, disorderly thick hair, poor appetite and slow growth. 2-3 days after birth, 150-200mg Iron dextrin or Iron dextran intramuscular injection, is necessary to maintain healthy level of Hemoglobin in piglets within 3 weeks. 3 years old piglet can obtain enough iron from diet. Maximal tolerance dosage of iron for swine is 300mg/kg.  

 

Fish

 

Lack of iron in fish feed causes anemia, fish usually requires iron content at 150-170ppm approximately.
