What is Silicone? Silicone is a class of inorganic rubbers. Silicone was developed for its superior reliability, long life and extreme temperature adaptability and stability. It will not go out of shape or break down due to extreme temperature exposure. Is Silicone Bake ware Safe?We use a formula of silicone designed specifically for baking which does not contain any fillers. It meets all FDA requirements. Silicones are now considered safer than conventional tin and aluminium.What Temperature extremes can the Silicon products handle?The melting point of Silicone is actually very high. However, the maximum sustained temperature use is 200° Celsius. Silicon bake ware can also be used in the freezer to temperatures as low as -40°celsius. How are Silicon products non-stick?Silicone has inherent non-stick properties without adding any additional coatings, however, we always recommend following the recipe's directions for greasing or flouring. Butter, sprays, solid shortenings and oils are all fine to use with Silicon bake ware. Some Silicon products have been specifically tooled to enhance the non slip qualities of these products, such as the trivets, coasters, mats and gloves. Will the bake ware stain?The non-porous finish, combined with the high grade silicone used by us means that our products have superior resistance to most food substances and additives.What is the Heat Distribution?Our high grade silicone and manufacturing processes ensure even heat distribution which promotes even baking and browning. Silicone is likely to heat up more quickly than conventional tin and aluminium.Does the bake ware take long to cool?The cooking process will stop when the bake ware is removed from the oven and the bake ware is likely to also cool down more quickly. Why is the bake ware flexible?The flexibility of the bake ware allows baked goods to be removed more easily than from conventional tin and aluminium bake ware, particularly in the case of detailed designs. Can the bake ware become out of shape if stored bent or folded?Silicone has "memory" that will allow it to spring back into shape. If your Silicone bake ware has been squashed for sometime, leave it to stand for 24 hours to regain its conventional shape. It can also be stretched gently back into shape.
