4.3 Brief introduction of engine
16V280ZJA diesel engine is 4-stroke diesel engine which adopts V type, 16 cylinders, directly injection, exhaust gas turbo charge and air intermediate cooling.
The included angle of V type is 50 º. The air intake pipeline, supercharger and intercooler are arranged in the V-type included angle. Main oil pipeline, high temperature water main intake pipe and air intake chamber are also arranged in the space of V type included angle. Camshaft, push-rod, tappet, fuel injection pump and fuel injector are arranged at two sides of engine block. At the superior part of V-type included angle and cylinder head, there is water outlet header pipe of cylinder head which is connected in segment (each cylinder has one section of pipe) and the expanded exhaust pipes are installed in the middle. The gear transmission device which is arranged in front gear box will drive left and right camshafts, also will drive regulation transmission device, governor, high temperature water pump, intercooler water pump and two oil pump which locate at diesel engine free end. At crankshaft free end, crankshaft gear and spiral spring damper will connect with crankshaft by way of taper fit mode. Crankshaft gear is the driving gear of gear transmission device. At crankshaft output end, crankshaft flange and coupling will be connected by bolt, and coupling will drive synchronous main generator rotator axle. The housing of synchronous generator will connect with engine block through connecting lane. Barring gear is mounted on the rear end surface of engine block. Wet oil sump locates under engine block. Engine adopts so many kinds of protection device. Regulation transmission device adopts emergency stopping device to avoid diesel engine over speed. Shutdown and unload oil pressure relay is arranged on supercharger oil intake pipe. Engine also adopts barring gear interlock, differential pressure gauge which avoid crankcase high pressure and anti-explosion valve which mounted on crankcase observation door cover at two sides of engine block.
The hoisting of diesel engine is using cylinder cover tightening bolt and adopting special lifting tools.
