Magnesium chloride is namely MgCl2•6H2O, it easily deliquescences and when in contact with dry air or climates will lose water of crystallization. It is a monoclinic crystal, salty and corrosive. Used for making magnesium metal , disinfectant, frozen brine, pottery and filling fabric, making paper, etc. It's solution and magnesia oxide, when mixed, can become hard wear-resisting of magnesia cement.
