The guide wire helps insertion of E. V. D. catheter.

Directions:

Confirm the package no damaged, then take out E. V. D. catheter.

Insert the catheter to lateral cerebral ventricle with the help of guide wire.

Insert the catheter a little deep again when cerebrospinal fluid flow out.

Fix the catheter on scalp, and then connect it to the drainage system.

Purpose:

E. V. D. catheter is used in continuous drainage for cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) or sludged blood during the operation to improve neurosurgicalconditions such as CSF circulatory disorder, brain pressure ascent andventricular vein extension caused by cerebroma, dropsy of brain, braininjury and intracranial hemorrhage etc.. It accelerate CSF circulationand prevent brain pressure ascent.
