Physicochemical Properties: Magnesium carbonate is white monoclinic crystalline or amorphous powder. Its chemical compositions generally is expressed in x MgCO3· y Mg(OH) 2· z H2O, of which the proportions of x, y and z have several different kinds and can be 4:1:4, 4:1:5, 4:1:6, 4:1:7, 3:1:3 and 3:1:4. And nontoxic, odorless, stable in the air. Relative density is 2.16. Slightly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution shows weak alkaline reaction. Its solubility in water is 0.02% (15°C). Easily soluble in acid and ammonium salt solution, it shall resolve and send out carbon dioxide while meeting with diluted acid. Heated to 300°C and above, it shall resolve and produce water, carbon dioxide and magnesium oxide.

Use:Magnesium carbonate used as high-quality filler and reinforcement agent of rubber products; as well as fireproof and thermal insulation materials resistant to high temperature. Light magnesium carbonate with a basis of asbestos is high-quality isolation material used for ship and boiler manufacture. And it also can be used to manufacture high-grade glass articles, magnesium salt, pigment, paint and chemicals for daily use, etc. It can be used as anti-acid agent in pharmaceutical industry. And also can be used as desiccant, color retention agent, carrier and anti-caking agent.
