Methyl acrylate is a clear, colorless, volatile liquid with a slight solubility in water.

Methyl acrylate is used in the production of coatings, elastomers, adhesives, thickeners, amphoteric surfactants, fibers, plastics, textiles and inks. Methyl acrylate is also used in chemical synthesis.

Concretely it is widely used for thermosetting, photofixation AA paint; sensitive paint; water soluble galvanic paint; adhesives, textile treatment agent, water stabilizing agent, and papermaking and polymer modified agent.
