1Hammer Type Whirlwind Mill     Hammer mills are operated at high speeds. The rotor shaft carries hammers that can be T-shaped elements, stirrups. Bars or rings ficed or picoted to the shaft or to disks fixed to the shaft. The rotor runs in a housing containing grinding plates or liners. a cylingdrical screen or grating, aerving as an internal classifier, usually encloses all or part of the rotor. The grinding action results from impact and attrition between lumps or particles of the material being ground, the housing, and the grinding elements. a large number of variations of the hammer mill are available:  the mikri-pulverizer, Aero pulverizer, disintegrator, Tornado mill, Fitz mill, Turbo-pulverizer,  turbo mill, pin mill, kolloplex mill, entoleter impact mill, lmp pulverizer, Automatic pulverizer, hurricane pulverizer classifier, Mikro-Atomizer, Mikro-Bud pulverizer, Mikro-ACM pulverizer, and the pulvocron.

Hammer mills are a machine whose purpose is to shred material into fine particles. They have many sorts of applications in many industries. The concept is fairly straightforward. Hammer mill is essentially a steel drum containing a vertical or horizontal cross-shaped rotor on which pivoting hammers are mounted. The hammers are free to swing on the ends of the cross. The rotor is spun at a high speed inside the drum while material is fed into a feed hopper. The material is impacted by the hammers on the ends of the rotating cross and thereby is shredded and expelled through screens in the drum.
