how to choose carbon bicycle wheel:

1.  clincher or tubular

most people use clinchers, which are normal tires with innertubes. Tubulars are fully encased tires that get glued on the rims. This option has some performance benefits including lighter weight wheels (no box needed on the rim to hold the tire on), decreased pinch flats allowing you to run lower pressures and a generally smoother ride. The downside is that you have to glue them on. This isn’t a quick process and can be tricky getting them even. If you get a flat when out riding, you need to have a spare tire rather than just a tube.

2. depth

The deeper your rim, the more aerodynamic they are. This is good. The bad side is that the deeper your rim, the more you will get pushed around in cross winds. Really deep rims, like 80 mm, are also harsher riding than aluminum wheels. This can be fine for triathlon and time trials but too abusive for longer rides and races. For riders above 160 lbs a 50-60 mm deep rim is a good all round option. Below this weight, you should look at a shallower rim in the 35-45 mm range.

3  About building-mechanical calculations.

A superb wheel needs superb rims, hubs, spokes, and nipples. Also it requires a good mechanic calculations on the accurate spoke lengths, also spoke tensions, and the skills of the mechanicals. The spokes used in our wheels are only within 1mm tolerance of length, so make sure, the spokes are running into the rims and nipples deep enough but not too deep. For spoke tention, it requires indeed complicated works. Our experienced mechanicals have to adjust several times for the wheels to get an even-tension on every spokes. All these make sure that our wheels could offer superb accuracy and stiffness.

4.about basalt braking surface.

Adopting special anti-high temperature basalt resin. when riding, especially for a long time downhill riding, the wheels generate lots of heat, while as we all know that it is hard to scatter or even transmit the heat caused for carbon itself, so the fiber will become soft as heat accumulated, that would be a big problem for the safe bike activity. Luckily, basalt, a good material to resist the high temperature, a good solution in terms of this problem.

5.over view

Don’t get sucked into cheap prices for carbon wheels. Go for a good brand that will stand behind their product. The deep carbon wheel is only faster if it isn’t broken. Get the right depth for your type of riding and enjoy the extra speed.
