A 3 m² panel made of a 28mm thick honeycombs core and a 5mm thick marble skin, bears 50 times more deformation and stress than a 20 mm thick traditional marble slab. The marble top layer is only facing compressive stress, that is why the mechanical resistance of this marble layer is much higher. The tensile stress is then supported by the lower skin glued under the honeycomb.
