API Drill pipe
Features
1. The drill collar is according to SY/T5144-1997 and API 7-1 " Specification for Rotary Drill Stem Elements" standard.
2. The material uses AISI 4145H alloy structural steel to carry on the deep hole processing, before thread and spiral groove processing against the total cross-section to quenching and the tempering heat treatment. After thread examination qualified, and carries on cold rolling processing to the thread root and the slips, reduces the thread part fatigue failure to increase the drill collar service life.
3. Our API drill pipes are of high physical property, for their strictly controlled processing of sulphur and phosphorus.
4. To ensure the materials to meet even surpass the requirements of API Specification, heat treatment is on the basis of the actual chemical analysis of each heat of steel. Strict full-length inspection especially on the weld-neck region ensures the drill pipes are of no defects.
5. All threads are machined by CNC Lathes and inspected with API Spec standard thread gauges. To improve the galling-resistance during initial break-in and drilling operation, all threads are also phosphated or coppered, and all the roots are cold rolled. The products shall be equipped with pressed steel or plastic steel thread protectors on the connections.
