CM-30 High Efficient Surface Sizing Agent

1.   Product introduction

Surface sizing agent is a product used on the paper surface to enhance surface strength, water resistance, paper stiffness, ring crush strength, smoothness and printing performance etc, of paper or paper board in the paper-making industry. This product has excellent features owning to its good affinity for fiber, good hydrophobic of sizing surface film, and strong ring pressure increase competence, and its good synergistic effect of each functional units.

2.  Product Features

-- In the sizing process, the product has good affinity and retention for fiber; good compatibility and synergistic effect for starch, other additives, and dye;

--Surface sizing agent could significantly improve the water resistance and ring crush strength of cardboard paper and corrugated paper;

 

--Surface sizing agent could improve the surface strength and water resistance of paper, which completely replace the internal sizing agent, and more importantly, completely changed the damp and back-gluing phenomenon after sizing;

 

--It has excellent mechanical stability. Since there’re less foam generated in the operating process, so no need of defoamer.

-- If it used in concert with starch in the sizing precess, you’ll get remarkable sizing effect with low consumption and low cost; it may even completely replace imported products.

 

 

3. Product Applications

This product can have effectively crosslinking with sizing starch, and in this way get good film-forming property, improve paper printing surface strength and sizing degree; at the same time, it can reduce the cost, and improve the production efficiency. Surface sizing that used for cardboard paper and corrugated paper can completely replace internal sizing agent, and significantly improve the water resistance and ring crush strength

5.   Application Method

1). The original starch pasting , oxidation process

--starch pasting process:

First, inject 70% water in pasting tank, start the agitator, and then slowly pour the original starch into the tank, slowly heat up to 60°C or so. Stop heating, add in Ammonium persulfate, and stirring for 15 minutes.

When the temperature below 50°C, keep this temperature for 10 minutes for oxidation reaction. After that, slowly open steam valve to heat up temperature for pasting reaction process. When the temperature reaches 85-90°C, the starch liquid changes into transparent glue solution, close steam valve, stir solution and keep temperature for 20 minutes. Add in water and dilute until temperature drop to 65-70°C.

--Materials Proportion

Starch: Ammonium Persulfate = 1000:4

-- starch gelatinization concentration:10-15%; working concentration: 8-12%.

2). PH adjustment.

After completely pasting of starch glue, adjust PH value to 3.0 or also by using Aluminum sulfate solution. (General, one ton of paper will consume 3-4kg aluminum sulfate)

3). Dosage and Methods

-- dosage: subject to different size, one ton of paper need 0.5-2.5 kg.

--methods:

A, intermittent feeding:

After the temperature of diluted starch glue drop to about 60°C, slowly add the well-measured sizing agent, at the same time, stir the mixture smoothly for next operation.

B, continuous feeding

Based on the working speed of paper machine to calculate paper yield, then based on the paper yield to calculate starch consumption and glue additives flow rate. Then we can use metering pump to add starch before using sizing machine. Please noted, continuous feeding need level automatic control of glue tank

6.    Remarks

-- starch pasting must be complete, even; density and viscosity index of starch liquid should be stable;

-- before using, aluminum sulphate must be added into starch liquid to adjust PH value.

-- until starch liquid temperature drop to 60 °C or so, can this sizing agent be added into; under continuous added condition, temperature can be extended appropriately;

-- avoid the combination with additives that contain oppositely ion in the same position, and at the same time.

--The product does not contain harmful composition, if it gets contact with the skin or splash into eyes, wash it off with clean water immediately

 

7.   Package and Storage

-- polyethylene plastic barrels for 200kg and 1000 kg

-- product should be stored in 5-30 °C dry, ventilated, shaded place; pay attention to frost and insolation;

-- in accordance with the above storage conditions, the product is valid for three months.
